Organization of minimalistic space for mindful activity at home

Category: Minimal Eco-Friendly Home Decor
Hello, Beautiful and Peaceful souls,

Hope you all are fine. I am extremely sorry for my sudden disappearance for long. Today, I am writing about “how to create small and minimalistic place for mindful activity at home”. I know, you must be asking, what is mindfulness? So, let me answer, mindfulness is the state of full awareness of where you are, what is happening around you and what are you doing.

I have tried to keep this space minimal yet as much functional as I could. This is a place, where I spend my time twice a day, early morning while mediating and planning whole day with a cup of green tea and in the evening while reading a book or doing some other activity with a sip of my favorite drink. Though I always try to keep myself positive all day but we all know it is very difficult to keep yourself positive all the time. So, this place has great importance for me. Whatever I do here, I do convincingly with positive mindset. There is no place for negative thoughts and this really helps me to get energized, feel motivated and remain enthusiastic.

I decorate this place as per my mood or the season. As all of you know, it is pre-winter season, so I have tried to create this space by keeping all necessities of this season in mind. The attractions of my minimalistic space for mindful activity are: -

1.      Aluminum Trunk box: I bought this from a local shop and painted it yellow using oil paint. I always like the combination of yellow and green as it gives a feeling of warmth, soothe and freshness. This trunk is used for the storage of books. On the top of it, I have placed a bamboo mat followed by painting of goddess painted by me. Since my childhood, this painting always fascinates me, but I came to know the meaning of it only recently. This painting symbolizes the power of feminism, materially and spiritually. A part from this, a bamboo fan having Santhal painting on the right side and an aluminum candle and wooden incense stick holders has been placed on the left-hand side of this painting. Instead of burning incense stick in this holder, I use it for keeping incense cone for meditation, match box, and extra candles as an emergency measure for power failures. In front of this painting, I have kept ceramic aroma diffuser with Nature’s Absolutes essential oil and a coaster. Lastly, a dairy for daily planning and the book which I am currently reading is always kept on this trunk box along with a fountain pen.

2.      Wooden sitting chair: On the right side of trunk box, I have placed a sitting chair which we call it as “pirha” in hindi with cushion for back support. This has been bought from wooden market located in Saharanpur (U.P). Since I am a core Indian by nature, so, I always cherish to decorate my home with traditional Indian goods that unfortunately have been vanished from Indian houses in today’s fast life. Using such things at home, really reminds us of our childhood days and give us a sense of peacefulness similar to what we feel listening to and watching old songs and movies. It reminds us about clean water, clean air, greenery and zero noise on the roads. Friends, we have a lot of facilities in India now, but we should definitely work to improve our environment for our future generations. I am really happy to recall my childhood, in the same way, we should contribute to our environment in such a way that our coming generations would also have the same feeling about their childhood.

3.      Broken steel water bucket: On the right-hand side of wooden sitting chair, I have placed a used water steel bucket which started leaking after long use. I have painted this bucket yellow and decorated it using a jute rope. Now, I am able to use it to keep small household articles as well as a plant stand.

4.      Bamboo basket: On the left-hand side of trunk, I have placed a bamboo basket to which I have added a warm throw to be used whenever is needed. This has been bought from Connaught Place, New Delhi.

5.      Jute rug: This has been bought from amazon to give the warmth to feet. It is really well braided with jute yarn and looks classy. I have placed another cushion on it which can be used for sitting purpose.

6.      Indoor plants: Indoor plants really made this space so vibrant. I have kept arrow head (Syngonium) plant on the right side of painting on trunk box and Chinese evergreen (Aglonema) in ceramic pot on steel bucket. On the left side of trunk, near bamboo basket, snake plant (Sansevaria) has been placed. I am really obsessed with plants; they are not only used for decoration but are great air purifier and definitely add vitality to any space. In my personal experience, whenever, I enter a room decorated with indoor plants, after a tired day, they really give us a welcome feeling. They also make us feel of fresh and lively.

I have tried my level best to avoid any useless fancy things and kept only those things which can be of any use.

Hope you all love it.

Take care all of you.

Always uplift yourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually
Yours Well Wisher

Hello, Beautiful and Peaceful soul,

Before reviewing Rouh Argan Carrier Oil, I would like to share a little information on Argan oil.
Argan oil is a plant oil produced from kernels found inside the fruit of Argan tree (Argania spinosa), which is found in Morocco. A thick peel covers the fleshy pulp which surrounds a hard–shelled nut. These nuts contain one to three oil-rich Argan kernels (1).
Argan oil is the best carrier oil for acne prone skin because it is non-comedogenic in nature (2). It has almost twice of vitamin E when compared to olive oil and higher in unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid and oleic acid (3). As, it is rich in antioxidants, it has anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties (4). There are many scientific reports available which give an idea and proved the following benefits of argon oil are:
  1. Provide moisturization and hydration along with increase elasticity even in postmenopausal women (5,6, and 10)
  2. Reduce the skin oiliness by reducing sebum level, hence help to get rid of acne (3, 7)
  3. Help in treating stretch marks (8)
  4. Prevent from sun damage and control melanin production (9)

Product Description: Sourced from Morocco, where it is called as “Liquid Gold”. It is 100% pure and organic Argan carrier oil without any additives. It is extracted by cold pressed technique and packed with goodness of vitamin E and fatty acids which hydrates and moisturizes our skin from inside. Availibility:

Packaging: Packing was quite impressive. Bubbled wrapped, one amber glass bottle of Argan oil was enclosed in recyclable cardboard box packed in ethnic style jute bag. The glass bottle has black colored plastic screw cap with inbuilt dropper. The packet contained two cards with usage and benefits of Argan oil along with beautiful quotes printed on them.

My Experience

When I opened the bottle of argon oil, it has slightly nutty smell and non-viscous in texture. Pure cosmetic Argan oil has golden yellow color, but this one is colorless.  This perhaps is because it is a more refined product.
I liked this product because of its non-oily and non-greasy nature. It absorbs quickly on my skin and gives natural glow to my face. It feels very light and seems nothing has been applied on my face. My skin is sensitive to acne but it did not cause any breakouts on my face.  After 15 days of application, it reduced the existing acne on my face to great extent giving me a nice feeling. My skin looks hydrated, moisturized, smooth and firmed than before. It did not cause any irritation while applying under and around my eyes. It is perfect daily moisturizer for me. However, I did not notice any noticeable difference in reducing acne scars so far. I am hopeful it will work in the long run.
I am pleased to use 100% pure and organic product. The dark brown colored bottle protects the oil from rancidification from light. It has an inbuilt dropper with a tight screw cap prevents oxidation of oil from oxygen and moisture. There is no risk of leakage and oil can be poured easily on palm. Overall, it is a travel friendly bottle. This is really miraculous oil; it made my skin softer and smoother. I really loved it.

My Way to Use It

I blend it with aleovera gel, sandalwood essential oil and rose water before applying on my face twice a day (morning and night). Aleovera and rose water give cooling effect to my skin while the fragrance of sandalwood essential oil keeps me fresh.

I hope my experience with this oil will help you somehow. I strongly recommend rouh’s Argan oil since it is a really effective product. Take a single step to buy it and feel the difference. Argan oil must be an essential ingredient in every women skin care product. It is really worth a buy.
